WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY
Two years of written coverage on our workmanship
Every project we complete carries a two-year workmanship warranty, written into your contract. The manufacturers’ warranties on the products in your home are assigned to you at completion. If our workmanship is at fault, we return, inspect and repair it.
The two-year workmanship warranty
Coverage begins at Substantial Completion: the stage at which the work is complete enough under your contract for you to occupy or use your home for its intended purpose. For two years from that date, we warrant the work against defects in workmanship and repair any covered defect.
Manufacturer warranties
Windows, doors, fixtures, appliances and equipment carry their own manufacturer warranties, which often run longer than two years. We assign all of them to you at completion, and our workmanship warranty applies in addition to them, not in place of them. If a product fails, we assess it with you and help you bring the claim to the manufacturer.
What the warranty covers
Defects in the workmanship of Priority One Renovations and the trades we supervise on your project: work not performed in a good and workmanlike manner, consistent with industry standards and in compliance with applicable building codes.
- Installation errors in new construction, additions, kitchens, bathrooms, basements and general construction under your contract
- Leaks or failures caused by the installation, rather than by a product defect
- Deficiencies in our workmanship that appear after completion
How the two warranties work together
Take a window. If a problem appears within two years, we inspect it. If the fault is in the installation, we repair it under our warranty. If the unit itself is defective, the claim sits with the manufacturer, and we help you see it through.
What the warranty does not cover
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage resulting from improper maintenance
- Alterations, additions or repairs made after completion
- Damage caused by the homeowner or by third parties
- Normal shrinkage and minor settling as wood and concrete cure after construction
- Damage from weather, flood, fire, storm and other events beyond our control
- Defects in products and materials, which fall under the manufacturers’ warranties
- Items outside the scope of your contract, such as landscaping beyond basic grading, window treatments, furniture and decor, unlisted appliances, internet, cable or satellite installation, and security systems
Making a warranty claim
- Notify us in writing within 30 days of discovering the issue. Email is accepted, and we reply to confirm receipt. Please keep a copy for your records.
- Include the property address, a description of the issue, photographs, and the completion date if you have it.
- Provide reasonable access so we can inspect the work and carry out any covered repair.
- After inspection, we confirm whether the issue is our workmanship, a manufacturer matter, or outside the warranty.
Please direct all warranty requests to our office rather than to our subcontractors. Warranty work is arranged and supervised by Priority One Renovations.

Keeping your coverage in place
Maintain products and finishes according to the manufacturer’s instructions, and speak with us before altering anything we built. Improper maintenance and alterations by others are excluded from coverage on the affected work.
